Joshua Hall writes:

Conundrum flowers for 9 months of the year from November to June. Starting far earlier than other winter flowering dahlias. The chocolate stems and fine foliage also make this dahlia unique. It is a distinctive shrub not a tree dahlia. The rich butter yellow flowers  stand out from a great distance and are very popular with bees. An extremely rare plant for plant collectors and bee lovers.
While it is a tree Dahlia and the stems become woody, it is not as tall growing as most tree Dahlias, seldom exceeding 1.5 to 2 meters.
It performs well if cut down to ground level when it finally stops flowering.  It is floriferous and will flower at the same time as all other garden Dahlias, but like other tree Dahlias will flower well into early winter. That's nine months of flowers!
Dr Keith Hammett QSM writes:

Dahlia 'Conundrum' was so called because its origin and colour was a conundrum.
The common hybrid Dahlia is self sterile and unable to pollinate itself.
'Conundrum' was raised from a single seed taken from the mauve flowered tree Dahlia 'Timothy Hammett' grown in isolation from other Dahlias.
The flowers are yellow in colour and the ray florets (petals) are fimbriated (have split ends).
You are buying a 30x30cm two year old tuber clump.
