Extremely sharp tool for cutting weeds such as kikuyu, sedges, paspalum, rye grass, dock, and flax with one quick strike.  Also very good for cutting down ginger, arum lily prior to applying herbicide to the rhizomes.

Ideal for weeding around new plantings and revegetation projects in paddocks and wetlands. 

Very sharp single blade made from high carbon steel. Quality construction heavy duty garden sickle at a reasonable price of $65 each.

Comes very sharp to start. Later sharpen with a Japanese diamond file.

Don't use as a tool for getting weeds between rocks or bricks or soil. This will blunt the tool. This tool is not designed those tasks. This sickle is a cutting tool not a digging tool. The Niwashi Traditional and the Stainless steel Niwashi Trilux are better for these tasks. 

Apply linseed or camelia oil to the handle and blade before using for the first time. This will reduce the build up of vegetative oils on the steel blade and extend the life of your tool.
