Salvia Confertiflora
Salvia Confertiflora
Dramatic color, structure and intensity for the cottage garden. Or just a reliable source of life flowers for bouquets, this is tough salvia with plenty energy.
Firebrick red erect flower clusters on 35cm dramatic spikes. Flowers are fluffy and dense like a fluffy twist stick; remember that craft thing from primary school.
Thick leathery oblanceolate leaves that smell like minty adult herbs and are a perfect army green. Woody stems that can handle 45kmph winds. Best cut to the ground in late autumn to avoid frost damage and stimulate fresh growth in spring. This is the compact form so grows only to 1.2m plus flower spikes. Very reliable. I love putting this into arrangements with achilleas. Together they last three weeks.
1.5L pot with established root system.
