Helianthus maximiliani

Related to sunflower, this is a hardy deciduous drought tolerant perennial growing 2.5-3m meters tall each season. Spectacular when in bloom. Fast grower that will form a perennial clump. Perfect for bees, butterflies or back of the border drama. Tougher and longer lived than a trendy annual sunflower. Dies down in winter then comes back in Spring. Flowering mid to late summer. Loves sun as per the name. Water well in spring to establish a deep root system then leave alone. Easy!
