Helenium: Moerheim Beauty

Ruffled whirling dervish dress, orange and peach, perfect sphere with three or more crowns of bronze pollen with a chocolate head. This robust helenium with pronounced bronze and orange flowers is similar in form to echinacea but more tolerant of NZ's wet soil and humidity. Moerheim Beauty has been the most popular with bees here for many years even with thousands of dahlias competing for the bees attention on the farm and in the gardens. 

Over winter this plant forms slow spreading clump with short lanceolate leaves. Mid summer strong stems will appear utilizing the stored energy of the root system.

Full sun, friable soil, good drainage and moderate to low fertility soil preferred.

Sulphate of potash and seaweed fertilizer applied late spring to mid summer will increase growth, stem strength and flower production.

1.4L pot. Plant October to December in NZ.
