Dahlia: Jowey Martina

Golden butter small ball fading to a lemon meringue pie over ten days.  This flower shines from 100m away. The bees hover round, tempted by all that yellow promising pollen; Jowey Martina is such a tease, until the center is revealed. Thick 30-35cm stems on 1.6m tall plants with light green undulate leaves. Tough, wind tolerant to 40kmph, forgiving of beginner mistakes. (Weyts, Belgium, 2004)
