Winter flowering very tall dahlia, Dahlia imperalis was first recorded in the highlands of Peru in 1892. It has since been disseminated across the world. Various cultivars have emerged as a result of horticultural breeding programs and selective pressures.
This hybrid has the typical form of D. imperalis with with a richer mauve flower than the wild form. Expect 3-4m canes with pinnate leaves and flared campanulate flowers. Flowers are mauve and flare wide, offering a afternoon umbrella haven for pollen drunk bumblebees.
Full Sun. Excellent drainage.
