Dahlia: Alloway Candy

The toughest dahlia I have ever come across, Alloway Candy was bred in New Zealand in 1970 by R. Stitt. Locally sourced stock that has been under a metre of Waitakere floodwater and survived two droughts. This is a dahlia you have to be talented to kill. She looks good and has strong stems. Classified as a Double Orchid Heritage dahlia by the NZ Dahlia Society. Excellent for picked flowers. Prolific blooms, very reliable. (Stitt, 1970, NZ)
