Asarina procumbens (Creeping Snapdragon)

A lovely plant that forms a wide mat of shallowly lobed, sticky rounded leaves, with very pretty cream and lemon flowers 3.5cm in length. The flowers are a favorite of bumblebees.

Creeping vines will trail down pots, walls or patios. Once established is fast growing and fecund.

Prefers bright indirect sunlight and a sharp draining potting mix (ideally 50% 1-4mm pumice with 20% sand or vermiculite) with dry to medium moisture.

An alpine plant endemic to the mountains of Spain, this will grow as an evergreen plant in our warmer northern NZ regions. Flowers mid summer in NZ. Ideal in a hanging basket or pot on the patio.
